Cierra Kahrs, M1, Class of 2025
I created this piece in fall 2020, during my last semester as an undergraduate student. I wanted to tie my interests of geriatrics and dementia with my passion for ceramics.
Similar to many people around the world, my family has been impacted personally by Alzheimer’s Disease. I wanted to create a piece that brought the biology and the human experience (for both patients and caregivers) of the disease together. The wall piece mimics the process of neurons losing their connection over time. Made with porcelain slip cast.
